ANNOUNCEMENT!
We are offering our Practice Field to other teams who need to test their robot on the field.
Please email us at 972contact@lgsuhsd.org if you’re interested!

All of our sessions are held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Due to the scheduling needs of Team 972’s students and mentors, it can be quite challenging to accommodate other times or dates. However, if your team is in urgent need of an alternative, feel free to reach out to us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Saturdays | 2/15 2/22 3/8 3/22 3/29 |
---|---|
Sundays | 2/16 2/23 3/9 3/23 3/30 |
We kindly ask that you bring no more than 12 people (this includes both students and mentors) at a time. Our practice field typically accommodates two teams and our staff, so keeping the group size manageable helps ensure a smooth experience.
Here’s what you’ll need to bring:
- Safety Glasses: We have a limited supply, so please bring your own to ensure everyone’s safety.
- Your Robot: Don’t forget your robot! You kind of need that.
- Mentors: At least one adult mentor with you.
- Coral / Algae: Now that we’re later in the season, it’s highly likely we’ll be on the field with you, and we only have enough coral for one robot to be hardcore tested at a time.
- A Gracious & Respectful Attitude: We value collaboration and a positive spirit, so come ready to work together and have fun.
We look forward to seeing you and your team!
We’ll provide the following to ensure your team has what it needs during your session:
- Tools: We have a wide variety of tools available for use, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. If you’re unsure whether we have a specific tool, just let us know, and we’ll be happy to confirm!
- Batteries and Chargers: We have plenty of batteries available, and our Control Systems subteam is ready to assist with testing and help ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Parking Map and Directions: We’ll provide a map to help you find the best parking spots and the easiest way to get to and from the practice field.
-
We love trading merch! Feel free to bring your team’s apparel, as we’re always excited to trade with other teams. It’s a fun way to share and connect!
-
Want something different? If you’re interested in a specific piece of merch but don’t see it available for trade, being part of another FRC team gets you a discount at our store! Check out our apparel page on this website for more details.
-
Please, no eating on the field. The practice field is set up in a borrowed room from one of our teachers, and we’re incredibly grateful for his support in letting us rearrange his classroom. However, the floor is carpeted and the room is a woodshop classroom, so it’s not a safe place to eat. We want to avoid dirt getting into your food or the carpet getting permanently stained, so please enjoy your meals outside of the field area.
-
We love taking photos! We document our sessions with plenty of photos for proof of life, team updates, and social media. If you’re not comfortable with this, please let us know ahead of time so we can respect your preferences.
